Winter has left the building and signs of spring are everywhere in Australia.
Growing up as a teenager in the early 90’s the shopping hot spots were always Sportsgirl, Supre and the surf shops for Billabong attire. Shopping was easy back then and most of the times things fit well and you hung out in your tencel jeans, looking cool with your swatch watch and mood ring.
During my early 20’s Miss Shop became a favourite, along with Portmans and Cotton On. There were 21st and weddings to get dressed up for and the options were endless.
Then the 30’s snuck up on me and it was full of maternity clothes and breast feeding friendly options (pretty much a lot of the same stuff worn over and over again) and I was left a little confused as to where my ‘go to shops’ were anymore. I walk into Sportsgirl and it feel like if I was going to a festival I was set but alas the only festivals I go to these days are with under 5’s. Don’t even get me started on the options at Forever New and Kookai, forget it.
Surely I wasn’t at the Katie’s, Rockman’s and Susan’s stage yet. That’s where my mum shop and she’s a stylish woman but isn’t there an in-between?
I find my self drawn to Witchery, Seed and Country road and is probably where most of my clothes are from but I also tend to walk out with more for the kids than myself! Teeny tiny versions of clothes are so darn cute!
With a holiday to Bali coming up I was forced to buy some new clothes and hit the shops fast, so I head to my nearest Westfield and grabbed some dresses, t-shirts, skirts, hat, bathers and backpack.
Thankfully wedges are back in this summer, I’m not great with heels but love a bit of height. These gorgeous wedges are from Witchery.
Remember Birkenstocks?? Well they are back on trend too this summer but they now include a metallics range! Love these. Great for weekend sport and school pick ups.
Skirts are back! And thankfully, the longer the better! This mid length skirt from Country Road would be lovely with a white tee and could be dressed up with wedges and accessories.
For basic shorts and tees, target has a great range. I love these boyfriend dis-tressed denim ones
Glassons has some really affordable t-shorts in a rnage of colours. Perfect with skirts or short.
I’m loving the throw back to the 80’s off the shoulder look with this dress from Seed Heritage. I have this dress (you can see it on my Instagram account) and it’s very comfortable and versatile. I wear with with brown wedges and a cross over the shoulder bag from Country Road.
For the swimwear options, I was dreading this experience but Myer made it so easy with all the big brands in one location i.e Seafolly, Cozi, Speedo so I could try a few on at once. Brilliant. I decided on a one piece by Jennifer Hawkins range Cozi.
So I’d love to know where do you shop?
